Creative Arts Academy

In Manchester, many young people and communities — particularly those from marginalised backgrounds — face limited access to creative outlets and few opportunities to explore careers in the arts.

Despite the region’s rich cultural scene, the creative industries remain inaccessible to those without the resources, networks, or confidence to participate.

Creative subjects are also being squeezed out of the curriculum, leaving students without a space to express themselves, explore identity, or build confidence through creativity.

For young people struggling with school engagement, emotional wellbeing, or a lack of representation, this can lead to isolation, low self-esteem, and missed potential.

The Creative Arts Academy was developed to provide access, expression, and opportunity — giving young people the tools to grow personally and creatively while exploring real pathways into the creative industries.
