Nurturing Foundations offer a diverse range of out-of school activities to reinforcce the children’s curriculum, supplement their education, help young people with their studies, and prepare them for exams. We offer a number of sub-projects.
YouthBank Programme
Nurturing Foundations was appointed as the commissionners for a programme funded by the Youth Bank Programme and are the lead on this. This programme is entirely run by our young people. Since last June when Nurturing Foundations won the commission, its young people have been the ones who are in charge of making decisions about any project proposal coming from young people across Greater Manchester. Since then, they meet every Saturday.
HAF Holiday Programme
This programme is run during half-term. The council provides projects with the funding necessary to deliver activities to young people activities and feed them (No child go hungry Manchester City Council programme). This takes place during every half-term including:
- Easter
- Summer
- Christmas
- and Summer breaks
Social Saturdays are our weekly Saturday gatherings. Each session deals with a specific topic or talking point within the theme for the month.
We meet on Saturdays during term times at our safe space “Nurturing Foundations Hub, ” a thriving hub for sustainable growth, engagement, education, building skills, aspirations, and resilience in children and young people. Ages 6-16 years old.
